"No matter how long we stay in Iraq, no matter how many soldiers we send, the day we leave, the mean-est, most vicious, most brilliant man in the country, a man who makes Saddam Hussein look like a baby, will take over and spit on the American flag," he says. There is no bully currently running the Iraq democracy, rife with problems that it is. Trump was way off base on a decision that he would never have the courage to make were he in a similar situation.

Further down in the same article, trump again allows us a sneak peek into the ignorance that prevails in his misguided interpretation of events that followed, McCain and Hillary in particular--

He blames the war on lies, forgives Hillary then agrees with the electorate that she has a very good chance to be our next president. How does he feel about that today?

#WHCD--Another McCain Holiday Speech--NO SOLUTION, #CAGOP, TRUMP RALLY

TO HILL 55 RADIO FWD
FROM CMD COC, 27TH MARINES
SUBJ  FAILED INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP

(LEPER COLONY)--

"Under this Administration, we've been on a holiday from American leadership. Too often, President Obama has adopted a cheap fatalism about America's role in the world. No matter the challenge, we're told that there are no good options, that our influence is limited, that we will not succeed overnight, that there is no military solution, and that we can't solve every problem."

FATALISM--
the belief that all events are predetermined and therefore inevitable.
a submissive outlook, resulting from a fatalistic attitude.
synonyms: passive acceptance, resignation, stoicism, acceptance of the inevitable;

President Obama has recently come out of the foreign policy closet on his failure to achieve success in Libya; some are even saying that it would have been better left under the iron grip of Khadaffi. If anything, it was one of the highlights of his leadership in spite of the current status quo of the country.

The President did not act alone and cannot bear the full responsibility of the consequences. In fact, Senator McCain fails to understand that when a decision is made on the executive level, whether or not all of the outcomes are considered or even imagined, it is still in the best interests of leadership in general to execute the order rather than delay it.

Who could say where the Arab Spring actually began? Tunisia?  Although the original revolt began there, it was not until the army moved on Benghazi that the West decided to act, and it did not act alone. There was a very good option, Odyssey Dawn, neutralize the Libyan army, pay the piper in the aftermath, it comes with the territory. It was a good military solution..

Withdrawal from Iraq followed many years of outright occupation that began on what many believe was a falsehood, but it didn't matter when the bombs began to fall over Baghdad. Where were you when Shock & Awe hit? On vacation? On a holiday?  Was it a sound military decision or just another invasion of the Middle East by foreign powers. All of the above. The last of a dying breed that America had grown weary of.

Under new leadership the consensus was to allow everything that McCain said in his speech the other day to be the New Normal. The world was changing, it was time for America to come home, let Russia and China go about bullying the world, imposing their iron fist on the weak and on the less fortunate.

No, there aren't any good options, no military solutions, and America needs to solve its problems at home; the rights of citizens, the economy, where we stand on immigration, who can go into what bathroom and how to stop drugs from killing our kids. There are solutions to those problems and Obama set out on a course to focus his administration on those problems. If the world goes to Hell in a handbasket, don't blame America, it was headed there and we tried to stop it.

There are solutions to complex problems with innumerable variables. Rationalize, substitute, look for the partial answer until the entire complexity of the equation can be simplified, study your calculus Senator McCain...

(NORTH BEACH BUREAU)--The Ohio presidential hopeful has some explaining to do as to why he opposed the development and deployment of the B-2 bomber, which has proven itself time and again from Kosovo to Odyssey Dawn. During his tenure as House Budget Committee chairman, and hoping to hop on the Contract With America hayride, Kasich was adamant on killing the project altogether, comparing it to Dracula, as the below archived newspaper article indicates--

KASICH: "Even if you put a stake through the heart of the B-2, it won't die."

He was also in on the attempt to drop funding for the USMC V-22 Osprey Tiltrotor, which has become a mainstay aircraft for the Marines.

It's clear that Kasich will be stingy on Defense and will find himself in the same straits as the current administration, watching Russian jets buzz unarmed US reconnaissance aircraft even as Putin marches over the Crimea and Syria, while China is allowed to bolster its presence on strategic South China Seas islands; while apologizing to the Arab world for yet another ISIS crisis.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) —Gov. Pete Wilson vetoed a bill out-lawing job discrimination against homosexuals, declaring the mea-sure would unduly burden employ-ers. Gay rights activists and others accused Wilson of betraying the homosexual community with his veto Sunday. About 350 people protested with a march through West Hollywood. "Governor Wilson has sold out gay and lesbian Californians. By doing this he has buckled to pres-sure from the conservative, reli-gious wing," said David Smith, spokesman for Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Community Services. The bill, in most instances, would have banned employment discrimination based on sexual orientation. Wilson, a Republican, said the bill would "create burdens upon employers, both guilty and innocent," by adding to "the flood tide of litigation which increasingly and importantly threatens Cali-fornia's competitiveness as a place to do business." Four states offer job protection
for homosexuals — Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts and Wis-consin. Wilson said the right to privacy contained in the state constitution prohibits employers from discrim-inating on the basis of sexual orientation. But gay rights activists insisted the bill was necessary. Under current law, a person may sue an employer for discrimi-nation on the basis of sexual orien-tation. Under the bill, that same person could have filed a com-plaint with the state, which in turn would have sued the employer on his or her behalf and represented the complainant throughout the le-gal process. Such complaints already may be filed for discrimination based on race, religion, color, national origin, physical disabilities, sex, age and marital status. Wilson said earlier this year he probably would sign the measure. But there was strong opposition from the GOP's right wing, and conservative and religious groups sent Wilson more than 100,000 let-ters in recent weeks, urging a veto.

SUBJ  NAME CALLING, ERA OF POLITICALLY INCORRECT

(NORTH BEACH BUREAU)--Media big on the Era of Political Correct has to look at itself in the mirror, example below published in 1988 in the Pittsburgh Press:

Magazine attacking famous without fear
WASHINGTON — Spy magazine exists, on some level, to provide a little solace for those of us who are not rich or famous. The purpose of this year-old publi-cation is to take the hot air out of Manhattan's stuffed shirts, to tweak the powerful in Washington, to bleat a raspberry at the established every-where. The magazine is sophomoric. It is underhanded. It is unfair. And when it lands in my mailbox, it is the first thing I read. Reading Spy is like having your boss criticize you for lack of fore-sight as he walks into a parking meter. You laugh and then you think, how terrible of me to laugh at someone's adversity, and so you tone it down to a snicker which you try to hide as a sneeze. If the victim were a bag lady, you wouldn't laugh. But unlike some publications, Spy doesn't go after the weak and infirm. It goes after the powerful. As co-editor Kurt Andersen ex-plained it recently: "We don't pick on little guys and nobodies. We go for the overdog." Thus, to read Spy is to wonder why one of their large and powerful subjects hasn't sued the short pants of f these boys. (Andersen is 33; co-editor E. Graydon Carter is 38. They bring the average age of the staff up, way up to, oh, the mid-twenties.) Suppose, for example, that you are the chairman of Revlon and you marry a very prominent newspaper gossip columnist who likes lucious red lip gloss. OK, maybe this merits a few snickers at the Harvard Club. But Spy does a whole article called "Roy Cohn called them the Perfect Couple." The article is introduced this way: "A marriage like that of Revlon chairman Ron Perelman and gossi-peuse Claudia Cohen is a boon to everyone concerned. It is conve-nient. It helps two parvenues up the greasy social pole. And it takes two unpleasant people out of circulation. But come to think of it, that's probably the wrong way to introduce this story, because what it's really about is how Ron and Claudia - • two very special, very caring people - - overcame the obstacles of wealth, power and ego to fall in love." Or suppose you are Lawrence Tisch, owner of CBS Inc., and until you owned the network, you were mostly addressed in the hushed, reverential tones people normally reserved for the rich and powerful. Spy routinely refers to Tisch as a "budget-crazed dwarf billionaire " After the first reference, Tisch's public-relations man called to say that he wasnl technically a dwarf
ELEANOR RANDOLPH
Height is a big deal to Spy's staff. In June, they featured a chart show-ing seven very rich but somewhat short men whose height was adjusted for net worth. H. Ross Perot, for example, was 5•foot-6 really, but with assets of £2.5 billion his height is adjusted to 7-foot-7. Tisch went from 5.5 to 6-3. To be tall doesn't mean that one is off-limits. Last April they offered a piece entitled: "After searching three continents, Lawrence O'Don-nell Jr., found Six Smart Models (including the only person on earth named Cricket whose favorite book is The Brothers Karamazov)." Andersen says the article that has generated the most mail so far was their feature last May called "Col-leges of the Dumb Rich." They heard from a lot of alumni. Nevertheless, they have not been sued for libel. The main reason, of course, Is that these people are public figures who have almost no chance of winning such a case these days. More to the point, the plaintiff has to prove that the story is untrue. So we have the courtroom scene, with the judge, jury and two rows of bored, gum-chewing journalists looking for a reason to stay awake. The aggrieved's lawyer explains to the court: "Your honor, my client is here to protest that she is not a 'bosomy dirty-book writer.' " How many seconds would it take before every phone in the courthouse is Instantly attached to a reporter? Spy is only one year old and not making money. So it seems a little early to complain. The only people doing that are the subjects — i.e., targets — of Spy's voyeurism, and even then only in a whisper. What happens if developer Donald Trump protests publicly? The an-swer is that the news moves out of Spy. leaps onto the AP news wire and settles into the People columns of every newspaper in America. As it is now, only the 65,000 subscribers to Spy magazine also know the very rich and increasingly famous Mr. Trump as the "ugly cuff link buff" or more recently, the "short-fingered Bulgarian."

BAGHDAD – A number of Iraqi Parliament members who are on strike held a meeting on Saturday (April 16) to vote on new leadership for the Iraqi parliament and nominated Kurdish MP Adil Nuri as second deputy speaker of parliament.
The MPs told NRT correspondent in Baghdad, Omed Mohammed, they had reached an agreement to nominate Iraqi MP Qutaiba al-Jabouri as the speaker of parliament.
One of the MPs told Mohammed Iraqi MP Hakim Zamli was nominated for the position of first deputy speaker of parliament.
The National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) said security forces cordoned off the entrance and exit around the perimeter of the Green Zone and the entrance leading to the parliament building in the Karada Mariam area after demonstrators crossed Sinak Bridge on Friday (April 15) afternoon. The demonstrators gathered in Tahrir Square and later demonstrated near the entrance of parliament.
The MPs-on-strike held a session on Thursday (April 14) headed by Adnan al-Janabi. They reached a decision to dismiss house speaker Salim al-Jabouri and called for a meeting on Saturday to question Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.

The source said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The security forces cut al-Gomhoreya and al-Sinak bridges due to the gathering of a number of the Sadrist movement followers in al-Tahrir Square in central Baghdad.”

RUDAW--
Khasro Goran, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leadership council left the Iraqi capital by plane and reached Erbil International Airport Saturday evening.

“There was supposed to be a meeting in parliament at 11:00,” Goran told Rudaw at the airport. “The Prime Minister was supposed to come to the parliament and introduce the rest of the [shuffled] cabinet for approval.”

Goran said that many MPs were absent for the session as 105 MPs were “on strike” over the announced changes to Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi’s cabinet.

Only some 50 or 60 MPs attended the session, noted Goran, which was not enough for the vote on the new cabinet. The Speaker of the parliament postponed the meeting until next week.

SUBJ WALT LIPPMANN EVAL

(NORTH BEACH BUREAU)--Following article from Lewiston Evening Journal immediately following the Goldwater victory over Rockefeller on June 2, 1964:

(OCR UNEDITED)--June5, 1964--

... By WALTER LIPPMANN Sen. Barry Goldwater's vic-tory in California is the begin-ning, not the end, of the drama and ordeal of the Republican Party. For California is by no means a true sample of the Republican Party in the nation, and if Goldwater is nominated it can be only because a majority of the delegates decide to ig-nore and override the wishes and the opinions and the inter-ests of the majority of the Re-publican voters. Senator Goldwater himself has shown that he is well aware that he divides the Republican Party. That is why he is,pound-ing away at the duty of all Re-publicans to rally around him after they have been run over by his steamroller. Prepared to Risk The Republican drama turns on whether the moderate lead-ers are prepared to risk the dis-affection of the extremists of the right in order to preserve the main traditions of the par-ty. It was these traditions which Gen. Dwight Eisenhower described the other day in his article for the New York Her-ald Tribune. In view, however, of the fact that on the eve of the California primary General Eisenhower himself repudiated Roscoe Drummond's apparently au-thorized interpretation o' the article, it is reasonably certain that General Eisenhower has no stomach for the fight. Perhaps he can be fortified once more. For if the moderate Republi-can center cannot rally around the ex-President, then it will be exceedingly difficult to prevent the capture of the party by the determined minority on the right. Difficult It will be difficult, especially if General Eisenhower retires from the struggle, but it is too early to say that it is impossi-ble. There are powerful seg-ments of the Republican Party which have everything to lose if Goldwater is the head Of the ticket. In great states like Illi-nois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsyl-vania, New York, New Jersey and California, it may be that no available Republican midi-date can defeat President Johnson. But in these states the Republican tickets, which include governors and senators, would be ravaged by Goldwa-ter's nomination. As many of the Republican leaders in these pivotal states eligibility rules. The length of residence in the state required for OAA eligibility differs from state to state. So you may have lo wait a while before becoming eligible You can find out how long by applying to your local welfare agency,

will have their political lives in jeopardy, they may yet find the courage and the will to come together and to do what it is still possible to do—to stop the nomination of Goldwater and to rally to the traditional Re• publican, like G o v. William Scranton, who unites the party. Split the Party Failing this, the Republican convention of 1964 will be in many ways like the disastrous convention of 1912, which split the party when the old guard machine delegates rode over the Theodore Roosevelt pro-gressives. The party will not split this year as it did in 1912. The moderates will not nomi-nate a candidate of their own.
But the constituency of the mod• crate leaders will crumble; a n d confronted with Barry Goldwater, large sections of the Republican voters will turn to Lyndon Johnson. During the California primary campaign it was estimated that about 40% of the Republican voters preferred Johnson to Goldwater or Rockefeller. It can be said, of course, that this is a delightful prospect for the Democrats. But, much as I prefer Lyndon Johnson to any of the available Republican candidates and hope for his election with a decisive man-date, the prospect of a Repub-lican Party controlled by an ex-tremist factir is disturbing. It
will rupture that cohesiveness around the moderate center which is the special genius of the American party system. It is a dangerous thing nt this time to inject into our public life such a divisive force as Goldwater incarnates. We are a great continental plural society, and we cannot afford to have a politician running for President who makes it his vo-cation to sharpen and to em-bitter t h e sectional, racial, class, ideological issues that we must learn to live with and to outlive. Nor can we afford the tom-toms and the flagpole sitting which he substitutes for serious consideration of the terrible is-sues of peace and war.

TRUMP RALLY--Let's Make Border Crossing Great Again--#CAGOP, THE WALL, DRUG TUNNELS, EL CHAPO--

TO JULIO
FROM SIMON
DOWN BY THE SCHOOLYARD...

(HOUSE OF DETENTION)--What an irony, the GOP frontrunner running scared from a band of protesters at the Hyatt, sneaking into the California Republican state convention via some last-minute tactical maneuver, like a suicide sapper in a public market, then to make jokes about how clever it all was.

Then he follows up with talk about how anybody who would scale the wall would not be able to get down. Those same people who have relatives building his New York skyscraper and planting the Mexico flag on top of it. The same people who busted El Chapo out of prison with a mile long tunnel; the same ones who carved out a 1000 yard tunnel into San Diego to funnel drugs into the US.

Believe it, Mr. Trump, the outsiders already have the blueprints of the wall and are looking at each and every possible scenario to become insiders, making, and keeping border crossing an art, not a necessity. Only an amateur would make jokes and believe otherwise.

Noteworthy of the sister states are those in Argentina (Santa Fe),  Mexico (Baja-Sur & Norte, Jalisco, Queretaro), Brazil (Parana), and El Salvador (San Salvador). Mexico has over 30 states and California has sister states in 4 of those, making the construction of a "wall" a total embarrassment to the Golden State. The notion should not even be considered by a presidential candidate, someone from back East who is completely ignorant of the bonds between California and Mexico, not to mention the other Central and South American nations.

Some of the South of the Border relationships extend as far back as 1988 and as recently as 2015, as the list will show. There are also sister state relationships with Muslim and Communist nations.

TRUMP RALLY, CALIFORNIA--Delusion of Border Barrier--COSTA MESA, BUILD THAT WALL

TO SURF CITY BUREAU
FROM BURNT RUBBER
SUBJ  YET ANOTHER PROMISE THYAT CAN'T BE MET

(LAGUNA BEACH)--Desperation is the only word that can describe not just the opponents of the GOP frontrunner, but the supporters of the frontrunner. They'll believe anything in the face of a rapidly tweeted-out, social media universe where John Wayne can be lynched in the California legislature and called a "racist" for something he said over forty years ago, and probably didn't even realize he's said it.

The Duke at Hill 55, Dodge City, Vietnam 1966

It's no longer good enough to call people out for political incorrectness who are alive and kicking, but has now become gosh to kick the dead in their graves. That's what the world has become, and the GOP frontrunner supporters are turning out in full force to try to reverse the Age of Politically Correct. The Guardian, in its review of the Cal lawmakers nixing John Wayne Day, called the age of PC "orthodoxy". Applied to religion, orthodoxy becomes not whether it is the right belief, but possibly the right to believe, and even more so, is it the right thing to do.

So now the issue of  "Build that Wall!!"  There are two things to consider, actually three. First, can the wall be built? Would it be possible to put up such a barrier? Probably not, it would take years, there would be hundreds of disputes ranging from territorial to environmental, the notion is completely absurd. So much for the "right belief". Next, certainly  the deluded electorate has the right to believe whatever it wants, even it is simply not possible from a practical standpoint. It is the right of the candidate to delude them down this errant path so that he can win the election and go about business like all his predecessors, promise something that can't be delivered. That leaves is it the right thing to do.

In the face of two distinct conclusions, that it can't be built and won't be built, the conclusion therefore must be that the Trump Revolt is not in favor of building a wall to stop Mexicans from crossing the border, but in reality an unfavorable reaction to the Age of PC, which cannot be stopped from a legal standpoint, as witnessed by the gunning down of the John Wayne Day bill in the legislature.

As for SoCal, the candidate got a small dose of what to expect up North.

THE LOWDOWN ON THE SCANDAL--

(SANTA CRUZ, CA)-- Background on Livingstone's claim of the secret deal between Adolf Hitler and the Jews in 1932 comes to light in the book "The Transfer Agreement", written by Edwin Black and published in 1984. The following is an article surrounding the book found in the Milwaukee Journal shortly after it went on to the market. The text is in OCR, unedited from the original article.

among some of the thousands attend-ing ceremonies today of whether the world is beginning to attempt to blame the victims for the Holocaust. Not In question At first blush, it sounds absurd to say there was an agreement In 1933 between Adolf Hitler's German Third Reich and Zionists. people who sup-ported creation of a Jewish state In Palestine. As one rabbi put It, It's like someone claiming there was an agreement between Martin Luther King and the Ku Klux Klan. But it appears that no one is con-testing that there was basically such an agreement. Black's book deals with the months Immediately following the appointment of Hitler as chancellor of Germany and the start of the poli-cies of repressing Jews that grew into the Final Solution. Jewish groups around the world
responded. But as "The Transfer Agreement" vividly shows, there were strong and passionate differ-ences over how to handle the crisis. Some groups argued that It was best to try quiet diplomacy; others spon-sored large and passionate rallies. Some began to organize a worldwide boycott of German goods. Controversial aspect One critical and controversial as-pect of "The Transfer Agreement" is its contention that the German econ-omy was very vulnerable to a boy-cott at the time. Exports were criti-cal to keeping the economy going, which was critical to keeping the Nazis in power, the book says. Hitler also believed Jews had more power economically and far more unity in their actions than was true in reality. In its early stages, the boycott had some effect and scared the Nazis. Zionism was a major and contro-versial movement within Judaism at that time. In general, the movement held that the solution to Jewish op-pression in Europe was creation of a Jewish state. Many Zionists saw what Hitler was doing in the early days of the Third Reich — before the dimensions of the Holocaust were imagined — as typical of the oppressions Jews un-derwent periodically. So there was a peculiar similarity between what the Nazis and Zionists were striving for: The Nazis wanted Jews out of Germany and the Zion-ists felt the only solution for saving Judaism as a whole was for Jews to come to Palestine. The book says this came together in an agreement: After heated debate

and Infighting, the Zionist Organiza-tion, the central body of Zionism, voted in August 1933 not to support a boycott of German goods. In ex-change. the Nazis agreed to a system that led in following years to the emigration of about 60.000 German Jews — about 10% of the German Jewish population — to Palestine and the transfer of about $100 mil-lion worth of German assets to the Jewish-state-in-the-making. Much of what happened was re-ported at the time. but it never be-came a part of widely held knowl-. edge. Without Zionist support, the boy-cott faltered and the period In which it might have succeeded passed, the book says. But wait a minute — is that to say that the Zionists could have toppled Hitler and passed up the chance. and by extension are partly to blame for the Holocaust? Black said in an afterword to his book that such a reading "is an ab-surd distortion of the facts in my book, but many intelligent people have emotionally asked the ques-tion." "The answer is, of course, no." Mistakes possible For one thing, Jewish groups at least struggled extensively with how to respond to the kind of evil Hitler represented while many others. in-cluding nations with the power to have done something. stood Idle. "We did a better job than most" In reacting, Black said in an Interview. And If the response was not perfect. Jews. like any nation, can make mis-takes, he said. Black takes a further controversial position In the book: that the agree-ment with the Nazis was critical to the creation of Israel. The people and goods that went from Germany to Palestine became the heart of the economic and cultural structure of Israel and provided the physical structure for linking the scattered Jewish communities in the area. He says flatly that the transfer agreement made the nation. "But the price of this new nation (wash abandonment of the war against Nazi Germany." he said In the book. He said It was the fulfill- ment of the words of Theodor Heal, one of the founders of Zionism, that saving the Jewish people would mean having whole branches wither to let the trunk survive. Black wrote, "This one time, this crucial and unparalleled time, the emergency would be used to secure a future, not ransom a past. From this crisis of humiliation, agony, and ex-pulsion would come sanctuary, na-tionhood, and a new Jew, with a new home to call his own." So was it the right thing to do, to make an agreement with the Nazis? Was It genius or was it madness? No direct answer Black is careful not to answer di- l rectly. He said he wanted readers to ask themselves that after they read the book — "and If they got the mes-sage, they'll say, 'I don't know.' " But a reporter came away from the book and a five-hour visit with Black with the strong feeling the I author felt it was genius. Nazism was always of deep inter-est to Black for obvious reasons: Both his parents are survivors of the Holo-caust. He said in the book: "My mother as a girl had been pushed by her i mother through the vent of a boxcar on the way to the Treblinka death i camp. She was shot by Nazi soldiers I and (partially( buried in a shallow mass grave. My father had stepped out of line during a long march to a t death camp train."
